Research Design: Fact Finders meets with each client to review the information objectives of the research. We then recommend a research methodology that would be most efficient and effective in accomplishing the objectives. Recruitment of Participants: Fact Finders' staff interviewers recruit all participants by telephone from our data collection facility in Albany. Generally, twelve persons are recruited for each focus group to ensure that at least eight participants will attend. Participants are recruited by using a screening questionnaire to ascertain whether or not the individual meets the specific criteria for participation. Participation Confirmation: Fact Finders sends letters of confirmation to each participant and confirmation calls are made on the day prior to the group to remind participants while confirming the date, time and location of the focus group. Incentives to Participate: Incentives are generally paid to focus group participants as thanks for making the effort to attend and to encourage attendance. Discussion Guide: The first draft of the discussion guide is usually developed by Fact Finders. We work interactively with all of our clients to ensure that the final discussion guide will accomplish the objectives of the research. Conducting the Focus Groups: All focus groups are moderated by senior staff of Fact Finders. Analysis and Reporting: All processing, analysis and reporting is conducted by Fact Finders. We provide a bound final report and usually present the research findings to facilitate their integration and use by our clients. If desired, a copy of the digital recording of focus group proceedings can be delivered within a week of completing the focus groups.
